NEW ANDALUSIAN FIGURATIVE PAINTING
Group exhibition, curated by Conchi Alvarez of three artists, maybe the most representative of the new Andalusian figurative painting, promoted by Conchi Alvarez. Personal visions that provide a breath of fresh air based on the 19th century Costumbrismo and also share a love for Andalusia.
Conchi Alvarez. Painter of a personal feminine world, close to symbolism. Her oils on canvas in small and medium format belong to a beautiful realism reflected in portraits, still lifes and landscapes with figures. Her technique is indebted to a whole tradition of the early fourteenth century, passing through the baroque chiaroscuro, pre-Raphaelite glimpses and the great masters of the XIX and XX. Colour and light envelop each work in a magical atmosphere where the intimate feminine world is the protagonist. Paintings overflowing with light and intense colours orchestrated by ordered, balanced compositions, creating worlds in which optimism, sensuality, beauty reign …
Belen Ruiz Esturla. Artist from Granada, currently focused on the equestrian theme. In her works the rejoneadores, the bullfight, the riding or the simple observation of this regal animal appear transformed by a feminine and personal vision where the love of the horse, to which she has dedicated a large part of her life, fills everything. She masterfully uses various artistic techniques: oils, acrylics, tempera, pastels, charcoals, in order to enhance the individuality of each equid.
Antonia Benitez. Artist from Estepona who began her artistic career at the hand of Stoa. He reinvents Estepona in landscapes with a vaporous and ethereal atmosphere where nature and the city merge, achieving magical scenes with a seemingly free brushstroke, but at the same time accurate and precise, loaded with material rotundity. Her extraordinary technical expertise in mastering color and light stands out, as well as in the perfect gradation of depth planes.
