PASSIONATE WOMEN, WOMEN WITH PASSION

There are 17 paintings, oils on canvas and acrylic on panel, which cover the profound dimension that the feminine world has through passionality and the Passion. Eight nudes which intensify the female beauty from some of its many variants. Since the prehistoric stereotyped Venus, the female nude has been a recurring theme of inspiration for the artist, usually male. In this case, it is a female painter who approaches the subject of passionate woman, a woman aware of her own eroticism and sexuality, but also a woman of the Passion, much more important. These works try to demonstrate the peaceful coexistence in a woman of passionality and religion, a very spanish “pietas”. Erotic moments ranging from mythological review “The Four Graces”, to the romantic lyricism of the sketch of “Reverie,” the allegorical manipulation of the female body as in “Allegory of Malaga,” the narcissistic moment of “Starting the Ritual” to the emphatic and explicit sexuality of “Putting on the dress” and “Crawling.” Facing this female aspect, the woman as a lover of customs, faithful to the beliefs inherited in a Spanish tradition, such as the Holy Week. Works of art on women’s fraternities, providing an aesthetic and a unique formal beauty as a manola carrier, of the exquisite mantilla and elegant ornamental comb, and the introduction to the tradition of the young brotherhoods. First as a game, during the preparations, the initiation of this other ritual, as shown in “Chuleando”, “The Three Manolas”, or “The Manola”, then with expectation and fear (“The procession is coming out”, “Receiving mum’s force “), with twinning of fraternities in” We’ll take care of you” and with a happy ending:” I have no fear”.
