It is a proposal for a vital pause, a catharsis to know ourselves better, and to analyse why we want solitude or why we flee from it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To this end, we have put into dialogue the paintings of two Spanish artists who, through the genre of the urban landscape, show how solitude becomes an excellent means of carrying out their catharsis, helping them to balance the fear of socialisation with their desire for it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Miguel \u00c1ngel Iglesias and Conchi \u00c1lvarez share some elements in their urban landscapes. The most striking similarity is the absence of people. A curious coincidence, since urban areas, inhabited spaces par excellence, appear in his canvases and panels devoid of human presence. The Urbs is a space that, since its appearance in Neolithic times, has undergone an extraordinary revolution that has changed human life forever. The city, a social space par excellence, appears in the canvases and panels of these two creators empty, like anecumens full of colour and light, but always remembering that its urban planning is the place where socialisation and communication take place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Both creators have the spirit of the anchorite, who needs solitude to create. In the case of Conchi Alvarez, she emerges by resorting to the memory of spaces that she has lived and traveled through; in the case of Miguel Angel, taking distance from the urban fabric, flying over it, and then exploring and analyzing it. Their cities are empty because behind this exercise of reliving, dreaming, or scrutinizing the city hides a search for the interior and the ever-present fear of socialization.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From the emotional distance imposed by their study, both draw their ideal, luminous, desirable city in figurative language. Both reflect their mood in their use of colour. Conchi digs among the grey and dull walls of the urban fabric to discover, through light and colour, the essence of the city, its soul. For her, this almost archaeological quest has become a journey through her beloved cities, including Basel, which is part of that vital itinerary in which every glance at the city is a mirror that reflects her own life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Miguel Angel search is an almost mystical meditation. He develops perspectives in which he models the buildings with the artist&#8217;s melancholy gaze towards a forest of skyscrapers that clearly identifies the most densely populated cities. With a top-down view, from a controlled flight, she rotates and changes the angle of each new work, reflecting on an ideal city.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \t<div class=\"vc_empty_space\"
