This new group exhibition in STOA, curated by Conchi Alvarez gathers the creations of three artists, Elvira Carrasco, Marc C. Woehr and An Ni.
As a “Capitoline Triad”, these three creators work with very different techniques, from body painting and photography in the case of Elvira Carrasco, to reliefs in wood or paper, cut with laser, in the works of Marc C. Woehr , and the oil paintings on canvas of An Ni painting.
The contrast in the creative motivation and intention of their art is notorious, and seems to be clearly supported by the cultural differences of countries as far away as China in the case of An Ni, Germany, Marc C. Woehr and in Spain by Elvira Carrasco.
This is reflected in the rationalist, conceptual works, the result of a Germanic synthesis towards the pure lines from the spray and street art in Marc. Fresh, clear images of color in Elvira’s self-portraits, applying the “know yourself” or “well-understood love begins with oneself”, the result of a Millenary Mediterranean philosophy. And millennia also the poetic tradition and the lyricism of Chinese art, added to the more classical western formation, present, through the brushes of An Ni, in her figurative paintings.
Differences in its formation and in its past, History of the Art in the case of Elvira, Street art, graffiti, in the case of Marc, and western classical formation, added to the oriental tradition in the one of An NI (currently studying Fine Arts studies in Rome).
The comparison between these three authors leads to a greater knowledge of their works, to the verification of their singularities, substantiating the harmonious expositive coexistence. The juxtaposition of his works achieves a multicultural and several nationalities concord, highly desirable in other areas of life.
