At STOA, until the 28th of November, we feel green, but we are not green … as it has already been 8 years of activity. For the Latin the term green, “viridis”, was a synonym for vigorous, active, and young. That is how we are and feel at STOA.
An explosion of green has taken the stage area of the Gallery where sharing the space, in a sole exhibition project, are regular artists at STOA: Conchi Álvarez, Juan Manuel Alvarez Cebrián, Julie Alègre, Gloria Ducás, Paz Aymerich, Maria Jesus Ramírez and Gonzalo Cores Gomendio.
As in other occasions, we play, in this case with the green color in abstract works along with works of figurative level: hyper-realism, magical realism, surrealism. We have juxtaposed a variety of themes where, logically, and as expected, predominates landscapes, but without missing mythology, religious genre, particularly the Old Testament, and still life. Works of art done in various techniques and supports: acrylic, ink and watercolor on paper, next to oil paintings on canvas, board or paper glued to board. Graphic works ranging from woodcuts to linocuts, without forgetting etchings and aquatints.
